Alberta Health and Wellness

In the province of Alberta, ambulance services are required to meet minimum standards and practices. These requirements are enforced by Alberta Health and Wellness. Consultation visits are routinely performed to ensure that all applicable legislation, regulations, policies and protocols are being complied with. Alberta Health and Wellness inspects vehicles, medical supplies, and equipment.

The Emergency Health Services (EHS) Act is the main legislation that governs ambulance services in the province of Alberta. The EHS Act and other relevant documents can be found on the Alberta Health EHS documents.
