Primary Care Paramedic Requirements

  • Valid registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics in good standing at the designated level.
  • No criminal record.
  • No history of substance, drug or alcohol abuse.
  • Ability to follow the Medical Control Protocols of Beaver Emergency Medical Services and Alberta Health Services.
  • Physical and mental ability to carry out all assigned duties and responsibilities competently in a timely, proficient, and professional manner.
  • Ability to work in both Tofield, AB and Viking, AB.
  • Participate in and attend in-service training for review and education, skills maintenance, and assessment of compliance of protocols.
  • Valid Class 4 Alberta Operators License or equivalent with no more than three (3) demerits
  • Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - Health Care Provider certification.
  • International Trauma Life Support - Basic or PHTLS certification is preferred.

Advanced Care Paramedic Requirements

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification preferred.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification preferred.
  • International Trauma Life Support - Advanced certification preferred.
  • All Primary Care Paramedic requirements.
